All are welcome. All means all regardless of your race, nationality, citizenship status, ethnicity, sex, gender identification, or sexual orientation. Jesus invited all people and so do we.
Salem Evangelical Lutheran Church
Rev. David K. Asendorf, Pastor
Rev. Sarah Garrett Krey, Associate Pastor
905 Frederick Road, Catonsville, MD 21228-4517
Due to the Coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic, we will not be worshiping for the next several weekends. In addition, all church meetings, events and activities are canceled. Salem and Faith Lutheran Church in Cockeysville will be having joint on-line worship each Sunday at 10 a.m. lead by Pastors Dave Asendorf, Sarah Garrett Krey, and Micah Krey. It will be available on each church’s Facebook page as well as our video page.
As Easter quickly approaches, we want to update you on the worship opportunities available to you. Salem and Faith will be taking a hiatus from recording our own worship services until after Easter. This is because Bishop Gohl of the Delaware-Maryland Synod will be offering online worship services throughout Holy Week. This includes services for Palm Sunday, Maundy Thursday, Good Friday, and Easter. These services have been beautifully planned and filmed by the leadership of our synod prior to the governor’s stay-at-home order and will be “premiered” on Facebook and YouTube just like we have been doing for the past several weeks. The only difference is that they will be found on the Delaware-Maryland Synod’s Facebook page and YouTube channel rather than on Salem’s page. Below, you will find the schedule of worship as well as the links to the DE-MD Synod Facebook page and YouTube channel. Please “like” and “subscribe” to these pages and join us and the rest of our synod in worship throughout Holy Week.
Holy Week Schedule:
Palm Sunday – Sunday, April 5th, 10am
Maundy Thursday – Thursday, April 9th, 7pm
Good Friday – Friday, April 10th, 7pm
Easter Sunday – Sunday, April 12th, 10am
In addition to the synod’s Maundy Thursday worship, Pastor Nancy Kraft of Ascension Lutheran in Towson has put together a Maundy Thursday liturgy for families to do at home together. It would be a great idea to do before the 7pm synod broadcast. That liturgy can be found here.
