Kristi King

Pastor Kristi King was welcomed as Salem’s senior pastor in September 2026. She is passionate about sharing the good news of Jesus Christ and helping people discover the joy, hope, and peace found in God’s amazing grace. She especially loves preaching, worship, and walking alongside people through all the seasons of life.

Originally from St. Joseph, Michigan, Pastor Kristi is a graduate of Valparaiso University and holds an A.M. in Social Service Administration from the University of Chicago and a Master of Divinity from the Lutheran School of Theology at Chicago. Before coming to Salem, she served The Evangelical Lutheran Church of Our Saviour in Lansdowne, Maryland (2006–2012), and New Light Lutheran Church in Dundalk, Maryland (2012–2026). She also serves on the Candidacy Committee of the Delaware-Maryland Synod.

Pastor Kristi is married to Jamie, and together they are parents to Cora, their favorite person. When she isn’t at church, she enjoys spending time with family and friends, reading, campfires (but not camping), puns, and food someone else has cooked.
